This is a two tiered Mackenzie Childs inspired graduation cake. The bottom tier is a double layer chocolate cake with vanilla buttercream filling and an outer layer of vanilla buttercream. It has a fresh outer layer of white fondant which is then hand painted to resemble the Courtly Check pattern. It is finished in yellow beads on the bottom. The top tier is a double layer red velvet cake with vanilla buttercream filling and an outer layer of vanilla buttercream. It has an outer layer of vanilla buttercream and then a fresh layer of yellow fondant. It is finished with a harlequin pattern and gold dragees. The top of the cake features round fondant discs and a hand cut Cougar paw.
