Winter themed fondant anniversary cake
This is an 8" double layer cake-the bottom layer is chocolate and the top layer is butter yellow. There is a generous layer of vanilla buttercream filling. It is iced in vanilla buttercream and then covered with a fresh layer of light blue fondant. Snowflakes-single and double layered-adorn the sides of the cake. The snowflakes were hand piped with detail and dragees were used as accents. Blue fondant beads finish the bottom. White cake crystals are used on top to represent snow. The snowman and hat were hand sculpted from fondant. The skis were hand cut from fondant as well as the sign, which was also painted to imitate a wood grain. Finally, snowflakes were cut from fondant and hang from wire with dragee accents.
